The apartment is in a famous building and has been totally updated, with quality furniture. A balcony with dining and sitting areas as well as lounge chairs, stretches all the way across, offering good city views. There are two bedrooms (one that is a study/office), two full baths, a kitchen with washer and dryer. There is a 24-hour desk with doorman and security.Underneath the complex are stores, including two delis, a bakery, a drug store, dry cleaners and a beauty salon.
In the summer, there is an outdoor pool, which is always manned by a lifeguard.
I am a recently retired journalist, non-smoker, and looking to travel a great deal. I have made several other swaps--all of them successful and am happy to provide references.
The apartment is in a splendind situation-- a few blocks from the White House and the heart of Washington, DC. The waterfront of the Potomac River, with cafes and restaurants, Rock Creek Park and the lively neighbourhood of Georgetown are only minutes away. The Kennedy Center is almost next door and the Metro station only a five minute walk. The George Washington University and its hospital and lots of little restaurants as well as two markets--Wholefoods and Trader Joe's-- are all nearby. The public library is housed in the same building and there are two new restaurants that have opened virtually next door.
