Our home

Our Seattle home is large, clean, comfortable, with full bookcases, modern art, fireplaces, art glass and other craftsman features. The kitchen has adjoining dining room. Two decks overlook a private fenced back yard, with a view of the Puget Sound and Olympic mountains. BBQ grill on one deck. Very comfortable beds and private master suite with king Temperpedic bed. Two other bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Washer/Dryer on site. Free parking in the driveway. We can leave a car for you to borrow; easy nearby public transportation to downtown Seattle (about 11 miles away) and many other gardens, universities, museums and galleries. Also 4 bikes, a grand piano and harpsichord for your enjoyment, and downstairs den with a large screen projector system for movies.

You may also use our beach-front second home on private Hat/aka Gedney Island, either combined with your Seattle visit or for a non-simultaneous trade. It is a stunning, architect-designed home featured in 3 magazines, that sleeps 8, with 2.5 bathrooms. The last three pictures are from our beach house. The foot ferry to the beach house is 30 miles north of our house (Everett) and we provide a vehicle on the island for use by our guests during stays on the island.

Who we are

  1. We are very neat and conscientious guests, and we have experience renting our second home to families. We love modern architecture, art, math, engineering, cars, musical concerts and instruments, and plays. We love the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. We have children who are mostly grown - from ages 14-24 - and they are very responsible young people, and they are musicians and big readers. There are no smokers or animals in our home. We have many musical instruments and toys and bikes available to guests, and friendly neighbors who will be glad to help you.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is in an urban neighborhood in the city limits of Seattle and near many attractions. There are fine restaurants and groceries within a few miles, and many more in other Seattle neighborhoods by car or bus. Our region offers lots of hiking, sailing, sea kayaking, golfing, fishing, Olympic and Cascade mountains, canoeing, beaches, ferries, float planes, crabbing and clamming at the beaches, Carkeek Park and Golden Gardens beach parks are close by. There is the Space Needle, Pike's Place Market, the Center for Wooden Boats, several art and history museums, the Seattle symphony, ballet, and hundred of musical groups, Lake Union, Lake Washington, GreenLake, Pike's Market, Mount Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, the San Juan Islands, Vashon Island, and gardens at the University of Washington.
