Our home

Our house sits high on 2 1/2 wooded acres. Ours is a family home with books, movies, and a long dining room table. Children and pets are welcome, but we ask that they be supervised to prevent damage. The views, house, and location are stunning, with far away mountain views and lots of light. It has a gourmet kitchen, lots of wood, stone and tile, and three bedrooms. A car trade is possible.

Property features

Who we are

  1. I am Patricia, a string player, and writer. My husband Chris, 71, is is a retired physicist who now fills our house with fine furniture. We love to travel, but we also love our home, and we take very good care of it. We like places that off beaten path. We love to scuba dive and hike, as well as to explore markets and small cafes. Our goal is to live well, and we love home exchanges because of the good will and generosity we share with people who are initially strangers but soon become friends. We have had several hospitality exchanges which have worked well. Sharing someone's home is an intimate experience, and it makes a visit to a new location so much easier and nicer. We always leave lists of places to go and see as well as restaurant recommendations for our guests.

We have two medium sized and one small dog, all well behaved and friendl. Exchangers must be animal lovers and willing be be home enough to feed the dogs morning and evening and give them the occasional pat. They make excellent hiking partners, which one can do right from the house.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The house is one of the last before the state and national parks. We're on the ski basin road just past 10,000 Waves, a Japanese spa with an excellent restaurant. It's quiet and peaceful here, with the loudest sounds the wind blowing through the trees, but just 7 minutes mminutes from Santa Fe, famous for art, food, and culture. Full of galleries, museums, restaurants, chamber music, opera And sightseeing, it has more to see than we can ever accomplish. In the winter, It's a little more than 30 minutes' drive to Ski Santa Fe, or a little more than an hour and a half to Taos. River rafting, golding, rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding and biking are all warm weather pursuits available nearby.
