Our home

Ocean Beaches Very Close By. (And One Hour to Boston one way, and under an Hour to Provincetown, the other )

We have a cottage-style house on a beautiful 90 acre unspoiled lake. The house is airy, clean and bright. Right off the kitchen is a large deck which is where you will want to eat and spend most of your time, as the view is so gorgeous. No one ever wants to leave!

Our house is on a very quiet road with lots of trees. But the best thing about our house is the water. (It is technically a pond). Stairs go down to our own private beach area where we have a dock to sit or fish on, two paddleboards, two kayaks and a canoe. The water is clear, quite warm (I won't go in cold water) and excellent for swimming. The town gives our lake the highest rating for clean water and says we can even drink it (although we don't). Speed boats are not allowed here, so it is beautifully quiet.

A great summer day for my husband: go for a run around the neighborhood, then swim to the house from the beach down the road, and then run up the stairs. Afterwards, its sleep in the hammock until it is time to Bar BQ. Then its drinks on the deck til the sun goes down.

A great summer day for me: Visit the great flea market twice a week, bike to the ocean (half hour each way), walk in the woods right here, explore the many towns and stunning beaches (5 min to 1 hour away) by car, paddleboard, eat!...

There is a neighborhood sandy beach area 5 houses away(1-2 minute walk). Lots of families and kids are there. If you do not like stairs, then you may prefer that beach.

We have 2 bedrooms upstairs, both with queen-size beds and both are suitable as nice rooms for a couple. We have recently remodeled bathrooms, and there is one on each floor. Downstairs (it is not below ground so it is very nice, there is another bedroom for a couple- and an open sitting area with lots of windows. WIFI of course.

Who we are

  1. My husband is a cardiologist (originally from England) and I am a lawyer mostly representing children. Our "kids" are grown up now and - and may or may not join us sometime.

We love to explore new areas and have completed a number of very successful home exchanges through this site since 2006. I am happy to say that those who have stayed here have asked to return!

Trust and mutual respect for each other's possessions is most important to us. All other details can be worked out. We hope you will enjoy our house and we will try to be as helpful as possible.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

(BOSTON Cape Cod is world famous because there are many many interesting and beautiful beaches here. You can also take a ferry for the day to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard or drive to Boston (1 hour away), while you are here..

Our house is great because you have the best of both worlds. Ocean and bay beaches are nearby, and the quiet lake is right here.

The closest ocean beach is a 5 min drive away, and rarely crowded. In the nights we are also allowed to have small fires on our local beaches-which is amazing to do.

The Cape is really popular in the summer, but I think the late spring and the early fall are especially nice times to be here. The weather during all these months is 'usually' excellent.

The Pilgrims also first settled on the Cape, so there are various historical sites, old New England buildings and antique stores here too.
