Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

North Beach is SF's Little Italy. It is just out of the back door. Beyond that (all within walking distance) is Chinatown, beyond that (just keep walking)is the Union Square shopping district. Or turn left after Chinatown and you're in the Financial District.

Out the same back door: turn right and walk straight up onto the world's crookedest street, Lombard. Or turn left and walk (again straight up) to Coit Tower.

Or walk out the front door and continue north a few blocks to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39.
Take a Ferry to Alcatraz or the tram along the Embarcadero to the Ferry Building and its incredible farmers' market, or continue on to AT&T Park for an SF Giants' game.

My condo is sunny and lovely, but what we really have here is location, location, location.

The cable car is just around the corner, as is the #30 Muni bus. Within the City you'll prefer to take public tansportation or taxis, when you're not walking.

You can rent a car for any of several good day trips. Go north up the coast through the Redwoods to Mendocino. Also just north is the Napa/Sonoma wine country. An hour down the coast is Santa Cruz, a little further is Monterey/Carmel, or a little more to Big Sur.

Lake Tahoe is a 3 1/2- 4 hour drive with overnight accomodations, from bargain to luxury, readily available.
