Our home

Our flat is in an 18 unit apartment building. It's large by San Francisco standards. Our building is newer (1983) compared to many of the beautiful old Victorian homes in the surrounding neighborhood. Our flat is on the first floor and is one story. There is elevator access. There is also a shared patio/garden in the center of the building. The garden is maintained year round.

There is a spacious open living/dining room, a kitchen, a laundry room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The decor is modern and very comfortable. The balcony off the living room looks out onto the garden below.

We have a computer with high speed internet access, a large TV with cable, and plenty of books and magazines, in English and Spanish. Smoking is allowed on balcony. No pets.

Who we are

  1. We are a couple in our mid 30's interested in traveling. We have lived in San Francisco for 5 years. We both speak English and Spanish.

We are looking to exchange homes with someone that lives in the heart of Paris from May 1-13, 2007. Please contact us if you are interested.

San Francisco is a great location for vacation. Not only do you have all the urban amenities at your front door, but you can also take the ferry across the bay to Sausalito or Angel Island, or you can spend the day hiking on the coast, in the Marin Headlands, or at the beach in Santa Cruz or Stinson Beach. You can also visit Napa, which offers incredible wine tasting, fabulous restaurants and plenty of natural beauty. All these destinations are just an hour car ride away.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The City of San Francisco measures 7 miles X 7 miles. Therefore, it's incredibly easy to get around. There are three bus lines that stop directly in front of our building that will take you wherever you want to go. All three buses go downtown, to Union Square and SOMA, where there are many fine shops and theatres, bars, restaurants, the Museum of Modern Art, as well as Yerba Buena Gardens, where there are often free outdoor music concerts.

Our apartment is very centrally located. It is directly across the street from beautiful Buena Vista Park and a ten minute walk from the reknown Golden Gate Park, where you can walk, bicycle, see the flower conservatory, the botanical gardens and the newly constructed de Young Museum.

Haight/Ashbury is where the historical "Hippie Movement" took place in the 1960's. It is a five minute walk to many shops, bars and restaurants on Haight Street. The surrounding area is full of beautiful and charming Victorian buildings.

Likewise, another fifteen minutes walking in the opposite direction, is Hayes Valley and the Castro district. Both offer many bars and restaurants, as well as plenty of shops and boutiques. The historic Castro Theatre is a great place for independent and international film screenings.
