Our home

Our home is a 200 year old barn with solid oak floors throughout. It is bright, modern and spacious. There is a wood burning stove in the sitting room, and AGA in the newly refurbished kitchen and a friendly peacock in the garden!! There are 4 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The garden is enclosed and safe and has swings, climbing frame, trampoline and a lovely 2 storey playhouse. We have 3 adult mountain bikes and 4 children's bikes. This is a wonderful area for mountain biking and hiking along the South Downs Way.

Your neighbourhood

West Sussex is a beautiful conservation area with lots of walks through National Trust protected countryside. Beautiful West Wittering beach is a 40 minute drive away. Our home is situated along a private lane and is very quite and peaceful. There are 5 other homes in our tiny hamlet, so you won't be lonely!! The nearest village is 1 mile away and has a quaint shop and great pub which serves food. The nearest town is the market town of Petersfield,6 miles away, with trains to London(1 hour). Many locals commute daily, so days out in London are easy .
Chichester is 20 minutes away(train to London 70 minutes) and is a beautiful walled cathedral city. Goodwood horserace course is nearby and has evening meetings in August.
Portsmouth (30 minutes away) has ferries to France, the Isle of Wight and Spain. It is famous for the historic ships including Nelson's "Victory" and the new viewing tower. Uppark, an 18th century stately home owned by the National Trust, is 5 minutes away, and Petworth House is also closeby. They both host many events in the summer, as does The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland are easy daytrips for families. This is Jane Austen country and her home is in nearby Chawton. If you want to relax after your day of sightseeing or shopping in London or Bath, you can laze in our lovely garden surrounded by the South Downs Conservation area, with no noise but birds, sheep, and our peacock!
