Our home

Our home is three stories high, set sideways from the street. The front yard has 10' tall rhododendrons and a small hidden stone-walled garden. Back yard has a deck above, and a terrace below. We're high on a hill, several blocks from Brown University and RISD. The description may sound formal, but it's a family house.... living room, dining room, large kitchen with island, TV/computer room. Basement has washer/dryer. One CalKing bed-futon, a queen bed, one or two twins in guest room, third floor has an almost-queen sized bed and bathroom. We rarely use the fireplaces, and don't really recommend using them. Candles in the fireplace, now that's atmosphere!

Property features

Who we are

  1. We're all very tall, and we really need long beds! If a son or two is coming along too, we'd need 2 m. beds. We are teachers - an archaeologist and librarian. We have an indoor cat, but we would board her while we're away.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Providence is 45 miles from Boston, easy to access via train or bus or car. It's a (long)day-trip from New York City. Southern Rhode Island is a vacation area with dozens of ocean beaches, via bus or car, about an hour away. Newport is an hour south. Lots of early American history from colonial era to Revolutionary War to the industrial revolution. Fabulous art museums in Boston and Providence. Terrific housing architecture in our neighborhood, just walking around is fun. We have wonderful neighbors. Mountain hiking in S. New Hampshire is a 2 hour drive away.
