Our home

Our 1939 Tudor home is very light and comfortable. We have been doing extensive work in the garden and installed a pretty stone patio. Vegetables are already planted and the home was once owned by a master rosarian. We have a baby, so the home is child-proof with gates and such. Elegant living and dining rooms with large leaded glass windows. Piano. Ping pong table. Fully equipped kitchen. Front loading washer and dryer. Bikes and toys. 1950's style breakfast room. Basement with elliptical machine and other gym equipment. Large televisions with DVD and VCRs. Wood floors. Antiques--mainly American, but some British. Original art. The one caveat is that you must love cats. We have 5 indoor female cats. Our house doesn't have any tell-tale cat signs or smells, but the girls do need care and attention. Happy answer questions/give more detail.

Who we are

  1. Paul is the dean of admission at Reed College and I am an independent college counselor. Our son is 20 months old (born 11/04) and is generally described as a mellow, gentle child. We are non-smokers who are repectful and earth-friendly. I like to garden and we are foster parents for the Humane Society and the Cat Adoption Team. We would like to trade homes with someone who has a pool and pets, but neither is a necessity.

Your neighbourhood

April 2006 Portland Magazine rated Eastmoreland as Portland's most desirable neighborhood. We have tree-lined pedestrian and bike -friendly streets. Safe. Pretty. Walk to nearby shops in Sellwood-Moreland. Public golf course and rhodedendron gardens a few blocks away. Anchored by Reed College-which has a large dog-friendly campus and cultural events open to the community. We are in the city of Portland, and have a bus stop on the corner which takes one directly downtown. Other fun Portland activities nearby. Local fruit stand and neighborhood gourmet grocery store are walking distance. Fun neighborhood events such as the Eastmoreland Garage Sale and the Fourth of July Children's Parade.
