Our home

Summer is a great time to visit New York when many residents leave town leaving relative calm in their wakes. Our Manhattan apartment is tastefully decorated with art from around the world. Clean and organized, it is a one bedroom on the ground floor (no stairs to walk up), with an exposed brick wall, all wood floors, and is extremely quiet (rare for NYC!). Even more rare for NYC is the private backyard garden with a koi fish pond and 2 barbecue grills. The apartment and garden is our sanctuary of peace in the ever exciting New York City.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are married, with no children, have been living in New York City for five years, and are both from New England (Massachusetts and Vermont). Eric works in book publishing as a Managing Editor, and Elizabeth is a Director at a non-profit foundation. We live to travel and have been to many parts of Europe, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Mexico, and nearly all states of the US including Hawaii. We've swapped homes before (using this service) and can provide references. We do not smoke and have one cat (though she will not be staying in the apartment).

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

New York City is a slice of all parts of the world, and the East Village is a perfect example of this. It's an area with a true neighborhood feel (with no towering office buildings) and is a favorite of many visitors and New Yorkers alike. Within a five minute walk of our apartment, there is a wide array of restaurants with all types of food (Thai, Japanese, French, Indian, Chinese, Italian, Egyptian, Moroccan, and American, to name a few). It's a wonderful neighborhood to walk around in, is quite safe, and is filled with unique shops and boutiques, clubs, bars, music halls, theaters, gardens, and parks. The area is serviced by many buses and subways which can take you to all parts of the city within minutes.
