Our home

Our apartment is a converted loft in a turn of the century warehouse building. The ceilings are high! The light is nice. We are south facing on the second floor. The roof deck is shared and has amazing views!! We have one cat and some fish. The fish are pretty minimal in attention needs, and our cat is incredibly sweet!
There are two bedrooms; one with a queen bed, one with a twin and trundle bed. We have 2 children, so there are plenty of children's toys if you need them, or we can store them if you don't. No cable, but we get all local channels, dvd player and appletv, also a stereo. Washer and dryer in the bathroom- along with a claw foot tub! 2 cruiser bicycles that can be used- just please use our locks! Kitchen is small, but has everything you need. We have 2 large sofas that an adult can easily sleep on. The apartment is very comfortable to be in, and a great launching pad for New York City adventures.

Property features

Who we are

  1. Becky is working on a little project known as full time motherhood, raising 2 boys- ages 11 and 7. Photography has remained an interest for years- both making and viewing images. Shooting in a new city will be amazing! Matt is a creative director who looks forward to traveling when we get a chance. Staying in a home really puts you in a place, not just in a hotel somewhere, and to be able to wander forth from a home base sounds great!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, just 1 1/2 blocks from Prospect Park. The park is huge and has pretty much everything: running, biking, a zoo, historic home/museum, trails for walking, woods, a nature center, ponds and paddleboats, and many playgrounds and meadows to play and relax in. Walking across the park, you will find the Brooklyn Museum, Central Brooklyn Library and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. April is cherry blossom time at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and is a wonderful time to visit! 8 blocks to the south is Greenwood Cemetery- super pretty to walk in, and home to some famous and infamous New Yorkers. Our immediate neighborhood has all daily living amenities within easy walking distance- including cafes, food markets, wine and liquor stores, bars, restaurants, a movie theater, pharmacies and shopping. The subway runs all night, and it is a 5 minute walk to the F and G line 7th Avenue station, and a less-than 10 minute, walk to the R line 9th street stop. Easy access to other neighborhoods in Brooklyn, offering further galleries, shopping, museums, histories and excellent walks. The F train can take you to the Coney Island boardwalk, beach and aquarium, or into Manhattan, running through Chinatown, the Lower East Side and Soho, before continuing up through the West Village, Midtown and Central Park South/the Upper East Side, and then out to Queens: a whole other borough full of great food, museums and international culture. The G line will take you to Downtown Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, Bed-Stuy and Williamsburg/Greenpoint, before it heads into Queens. Connections can be made to almost every other subway line in the system with ease.
