Our home

Beautiful, split-level home in a wooded area. Our home is clean, cozy and offers spacious rooms. On the lower level is a large kitchen, with an adjoining den on the one end and a formal dining room and lounge are on the other end. We also have our study area downstairs and this can easily be converted to another bedroom. The den leads to a large deck area perfect for relaxing and entertaining. Upstairs are the three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Property features

Who we are

  1. I’d like to introduce our family. My name is Stephen, my wife’s name is Vanessa and we have our two kids living with us. I am a computer programmer, Vanessa works at the University as a Grants Analyst, Nadia is pursuing her Batchelor’s degree and Mishka is in grade 5. My wife is originally from Cape Town and moved here six years ago. We loved travelling and seeing new places, as well as learning about other cultures. We own timeshare in Cape Town and usually this option works pretty well when we visit. This year we would like to try the home exchange (not done before) and allow someone else to stay in our home while we stay in theirs.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Great neighborhood in a convenient location. The area is surrounded by tall, mainly oak trees. We are close to the causeway which connects our area to New Orleans (approximately 45 minutes).

The residential areas in New Orleans are the ones that were most affected. The primary touristy areas are doing well. These include the French quarter, Bourbon Street and uptown/garden district. They are also now offering bus tours of the areas badly affected by Katrina. This will allow you to personally see the incredible impact of the Hurricane.

You could of course just stay in the Mandeville area and enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility the area offers, away from the busy city life.
