Our home

My husband and I custom built our home in 2004. A contemporary home in an older, established urban neighborhood, the home has outdoor decks front and back with lovely garden. Pine floors throughout, with stainless IKEA kitchen and all the modern amenities. Four bedrooms up, with 2 baths, and upstairs laundry facilities. The lower level is a computer, guest area, and family/tv area. A separate garage for bicycles and the minivan on the property.

Who we are

  1. My husband, Richard, is a manager for the county social services agency. I (Kayci) stay at home with our three children, 6,11, and 16. We are new to home exchange and are excited to try it. My children in the summer participate in many activities available locally -- sailing on the lakes, swimming at the lakes, and rollarblading. We also spend time in the area parks and state parks. We are near many cinemas and restaurants.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is located in south Minneapolis, in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood. The park is a lovely amenity, steps away with walking paths, a child's wading pool, and playground. The annual Powderhorn Arts Festival occurs the first weekend in August. We are on the bus line and minutes from downtown Minneapolis, or the Mall of America. Minneapolis offers all the amenities of a large metropolitan area: -- art museums, theater, music, fine dining, etc in a beautiful setting. MInneapolis means "city of Lakes" and there are over a dozen lakes to explore by fishing, sailing, wind surfing, roller-blading, biking, and walking. In addition, numerous parks, are accessible by car (the boundary waters canoe area for the adventuresome,) or a day trip to Duluth and Lake Superior. For longer trips, Minneapolis makes an excellent base for exploring the western plains of Mount Rushmore, the badlands, and Yellowstone national park; or go east and explore the Wisconsin Dells and the Chicago area, a mere 8 hours away by car. There are wonderful neighbors to help you feel at home and we can assist in finding what ever activity you are interested.
