Our home

Although this is a one bedroom apartment it is in a fashionable apartment-complex (with a Lovely, Large swimming pool) in the acknowledged/charming little town of Los Gatos (South/San Francisco Bay). (See website; Vivere Apartments, Los Gatos and site for Los Gatos). A very comfortable fully carpeted apartment; light colored leather couch facing the cable 47" flatscreen TV (See photos). Beyond that is a very private terrace looking onto the trees. Kitchen; fully stocked with microwave, toaster/oven, dishwasher and, of course, fridge, oven and stove. Fully stocked dishes, silverware, cookware and food storage items.(See photos for each and all). Japanese-styled bedroom, Queen-sized bed, ample closet space, vanity sink, single bathroom with shower/bath.See photos for each and all). The space is Very comfortable for a Single or a Couple. The complex is remarkable. It showcases many, (listed as city-historical sites) 3 story mosaics that face the garden walkways that lead to the lovely swimming pool/Jacuzzi HotBath. (See photos). In addition, the space offers outdoor barbeques. (See photos).

Who we are

  1. My name is Paul. I am a high school teacher, in the Saratoga area of the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I lead a charmed life because I am able to discover life beyond "work" (it's really play to me). Yeah, I know, this sounds too sweet, but it is true. I have it all; a job I love (teaching Art), an enviable living location and the free-time to explore either those places that have yet to be discovered or those that I long to relive. So, here I am; submitting myself to the wonders of the greater world and offering, in return, the wonders of my own smaller one. I will be travelling solo. I am and am considered to be a neat and clean person who is very respectful of the belongings of others. My primary objective in travelling is to visit historic locations and museums, whether in small towns or large cities. I hope to find a central location from which I can take day trips and perhaps spend a night or two in hostals. The use of a car is, of course, helpful and appreciated (if possible) in local excursions but I will be using trains and a EuroPass for my distant travels. I have two pets; a large yellow-naped Amazon Parrot (whom I have had for 36 years) and a little 6 yr.old Scottie dog named Haggis. Exchange-guests are not required to maintain their feedings but it would be appreciated. Instead, friends of mine can take the bird and/or dog into their care or periodically feed/attend to them. We can talk.

Your neighbourhood

If you will check the referances to my area I am certain that you will find that Los Gatos is one of the most acclaimed towns in the San Francisco Bay Area. (Check-out website for the town...very revealing; There are some picutres in "Dining" selection if you select the link at the bottom of each restaurant discription). It has the most fashionable shops and coffehouses and restaurants in the east bay. I am, and you can be, within 10 minutes of The Largest City on the San Francisco Bay ; San Jose, and all that it has to offer. Restaurants, clubs concerts, culture. Let's talk minutes to what...I do live within and within reach of Paradise. My Toyota Yaris is optional. San Francisco; 1 hour drive to THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY IN AMERICA! Culture, Opera, Symphonies, Art, Wackiness, Variety, Beauty, Life. But there is more; The Redwood Forests of Santa Cruz Mountains; 10 minutes. 30 minutes to Santa Cruz known for its pristine beaches and surfing. (Possibility of use of my beachhome in nearby Rio Del Mar.) 1 hour away from Monterey/Carmel. A little further is famed Big Sur coastline. 3 1/2 hours from Yosemite. 5 hours from Lake Tahoe (see vacation home available, seperately from website This is PARADISE!
