Our home

Our home is a spacious 2, 800 square foot 2-story suburban home in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. The home features a heated swimming pool and spa, four large bedrooms upstairs, charming rose garden and fish pond with fountain, and a large family room with fireplace. There is a separate formal room for quiet reading with piano and its own fireplace. All modern appliances are present including washer/dryer, large refrigerator, microwave and conventional ovens, central heating and air conditioning. The kitchen has been recently completly remodeled and is lovely and spacious.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of five that loves to travel and play together. Father (Mark) is Manager of Training for SunPower, a major solar electric (photovoltaic solar cells) manufacturer. (In fact, the house boasts its own solar electric rooftop system that supplies the house with 30% of its electricity and has battery backup in case of utility power failure!) Mother (Eliza) is a Special Education Teacher for the LA school system, specializing in working with the deaf. Kyle (27 years) loves bouldering and is a recent graduate from UC Santa Barbara. James (23 years) is our engineer and computer expert college student. And Morgan (18 years) has just left for college. All the children have celebrated either their 1st or 2nd birthdays overseas (!), and we have exchanged a house a few years ago with a teacher in southern France. That was a great success, and we look forward to respecting your home and customs while enjoying a vacation in your town. We love exploring villages and towns compared to staying in big cities, and have the best vacations when we vagabond with a vague itinerary and discover out of the way places. We do have pets: 3 very friendly medium-size dogs and 1 cat. We could kennel the dogs if you wished.
