Our home

This is a 3 bedroom contemporary, with a sofa bed in the den. 2 full baths. Large living room and dining/kitchen area that looks out on the lake. The kitchen is very modern. We have wonderful mountain and lakeside views, and yet we are 30 minutes from concerts and galleries in Keene and Peterborough NH. Boston is 1 1/2 hour away. If you are an artist, we can talk about use of the art studio over the garage.

Who we are

  1. Susan is an artist, art historian and professor at a nearby college. David also teaches at a New Hampshire college, so we can take off for Christmas, March and other vacations. We have three children (girl 9, boys 11 and 14). We have all done house swaps in Florence, Italy, Brittany and Paris.
Dave speaks Spanish well and is a whiz at languages, having also studied French and Italian. Susan has studied those three languages but is not as facile at languages as her husband. We are opent to any European countries and any Spanish-speaking countries elsewhere in the world. We are particularly interested in areas of artistic, architectural and historic interest.
    Surprise us.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live on a road very close to Franklin Pierce College. It is a rural area but close to a very good supermarket. The center of town is very historic, with a large white 18th century church. This whole area of New England is very historic and beautiful.
This area is known as vacationland, and we feel priviledged to live within 30 minutes of hiking trails on Mt. Monadnock (and other smaller mountains) and within decent ski mountains (Crotched Mtn 30 minutes, Mt. Sunapee one hour). We can swim, kayak and canoe right on our lake and cross-country ski, bike or walk right out our door.
We are 20 minutes from summer music festivals in Peterborough, where there are several small art galleries and good shoppping. We are 1 1/2 hours from Boston, 4 hours from New York, 1 hour from Worcester, MA.
