Our home

We are a small family in a large home in the west part of Houston. There are 4 bedrooms (one has foldout couch as bed) and 3 1/2 baths. There is an office (with internet). Three bedrooms are upstairs, the master bedroom is downstairs. Our den looks out on our patio, pool and garden as does our kitchen. It is very pleasant with shade cover, tables and a pond with fish.

Who we are

  1. We like to travel at all times of the year, and we like to take trips at Christmas time, leaving on Christmas day and coming back after New Years. It seems odd to some people, but it is lots of fun -- if you think that your family would enjoy the holidays or any vacation time in a new location, contact us! Charles, my husband, is a systems analyst/geologist for an oil company. He's fluent in Spanish. I (Mary Anne) work part time for a brokerage firm. Our son, Conrad, is graduated from college and lives in New York City. We all love to travel and have been on many trips together. We've swapped our own home for homes in Barcelona,Scotland, Brussels, Dresden, Denmark and most recently a home in Maastricht, Netherlands. We've also accompanied our cousin on four of her home exchanges, so we're very familiar with how it works and you can be certain that we will take very good care of your home.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our neighborhood is in a pretty suburb of Houston. It is not far from the freeway to get downtown to museums and zoo and it is close to lots of shopping and malls if that's what you like. Every kind of restaurant from Thai to Italian to Texas barbecue are close by. Just a few blocks away is a hike/bike trail that follows a bayou -- we use it a lot for walking and my husband rides his bike along it to get to work! We have lots of bikes if you want to try it. Houston is a large, multicultural town. There are museums and theatre, NASA (space museum). You can drive to Galveston to go to the beach for the day. We have a 2007 Ford Escape that can be part of the exchange.
