Our home

Built in 1905, our home has hardwood floors throughout, leaded glass windows, fireplace and a kitchen completely renovated in 2007. Although we live in the city limits of Chicago, our property has a wooded feel to it - a large lot surrounded by 100+ year old oak trees. With a wood deck in back and a screen porch in front, this is a truly special, private setting in the city. Our master bedroom sleeps two, a second bedroom sleeps two, and the third bedroom sleeps two. Our home office includes a computer and a high-speed Internet connection along with wireless for a laptop and mobile devices. We also have the standard dishwasher, DVD, microwave, washer & dryer, etc.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Chicago ( a world-class city on the shores of Lake Michigan with a vibrant downtown, towering skyscrapers, great shopping, abundant museums, galleries and theaters, and miles of sandy beaches and lakefront paths. Our home is located in the historic and quiet Beverly neighborhood with easy access to freeways and commuter trains. Beverly began as a suburb of Chicago in the late 1800s. (In fact, the original developer later moved to California and started Beverly Hills! ) The historic Rock Island rail line runs through the neighborhood and is now used as a commuter line with dozens of trains making the 30 minute trip to and from downtown each day. Our home is just two blocks (about a 7 minute walk) from the station. Beverly is now within the city limits of Chicago, but retains its wonderful "Village in the City" feeling of older, architectually distinct homes on large lots with plenty of trees. This is a family neighborhood with friendly neighbors and generations of families. Located on the south side of the city, people here enjoy walking, jogging and biking along the quiet neighborhood streets and admiring the beautiful homes and gardens. We are also 5 minutes from the highway, allowing you to drive downtown or to any one of dozens of great destinations, like the Brookfield Zoo, the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, beaches, the Museum of Science and Industry, or Great America amusement park.
