Our home

Our home is around the corner from good restaurants and the 'T' (Boston's metro), yet the street is very quiet with lovely trees, parks and playgrounds nearby. There are 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, library with sleep-sofa, a renovated kitchen, and 2 full baths, one with a jacuzzi and the other with a walk-in shower. There is a washer/dryer in the flat and private parking behind the building if you choose to exchange cars (Volvo V40). Please note: Our son is very allergic to cats so we cannot exchange for a home with cats, even if the cats will not be there during the exchange.

Who we are

  1. My husband is Dean of a Liberal Arts College, I am also a Dean at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and have a small design business. Our two boys are 12 and 8 and both are excellent travelers and very respectful of other people's homes. We have exchanged with Home For Exchange 6 times: Florence (2006), Nimes (2007), La Jolla (2008), London (2009 and 2011) and Amsterdam (2010). Our exchange partner in London wrote about our exchange for the Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/northamerica/usa/7366718/House-swapping-holidays-home-comforts-in-foreign-parts.html

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Boston is the 2nd most popular European tourist destination in the USA. The Brookline/Coolidge Corner neighborhood is family-friendly, with parks, play grounds and excellent public transportation. The T (Boston's mass transit) stops around the corner (Green Line 'C') and you can walk to dozens of excellent restaurants, shops, art museums, and Fenway Park if you like American baseball. We are about 45 minutes to the beaches of Cape Cod. New York City is 3 1/2 hours by car or 2 1/2 hours by high-speed train.
