Our home

We have a comfortable modern home with a lovely garden - fresh plums from the tree if you come at the right time! There is a master bedroom with twin beds and en suite bathroom, a double bedroom and a single bedroom which also has the computer in it. We have a large lounge with television with Freeview (12 channels) a conservatory, a music room with two pianos, small dining room and kitchen with induction hob.

Property features

Who we are

  1. I am a recently retired school teacher and my husband is a retired senior Fire Officer. We have just come back from 4 months in California so don't want any more long haul flights for a while. We enjoy walking in the countyside, particularly in mountainous areas, but don't want to be in too remote an area. We speak some French and Italian between us.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

York is a beautiful, historical city with excellent museums (Vikings,Romans, Railway and Victorian), Roman remains, medieval walls, archeological digs currently in progress and the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe. TripAdvisor ranked York 54th in the world, in its Travellor' Choice Destinations Awards - above Paris, St. Petersburg London and Barcelona. For more information go to www.york360.co.uk/attractions-in-york.htm The Yorkshire Moors National Park is half an hour's drive away and the Yorkshire Dales, Bronte country Harrogate Spa town and the East coast are all under 80 minutes away. London and Scotland are 2 hours away by train. We can put you in touch with friendly walking groups, church communities (anyone want to sing in an English church choir?) and recommend local gyms. There is a golf course within walking distance. You may use our two bicycles and there is a good local bus service.
