Our home

Our 3 bedroom home is in a quiet residential area in York. After many years living in Italy I'd describe it as quintessential English with a mature private garden that even attracts the ducks in the Summer! Ground floor comprises lounge/dining room (with pull out sofa bed), kitchen/dining room, guest toilet and single bedroom. On the second floor there are a further 2 double bedrooms and main bathroom. We have just finished completely renovating our home so absolutely everything is brand new ? plumbing, electrics, decoration, kitchen, bathrooms and wooden floor throughout.

Who we are

  1. I am a professional (manager) with two grown children who are at University and not necessarily travel with me. This would be our first home exchange.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Eboracum, the Roman name for the area now known as the City of York, was originally set up as a military camp in AD71. Our house is located just a forty minute stroll on foot or ten minute drive from the historic walled city centre. York is a compact walled riverside city and home to countless world-class attractions, museums and galleries. You can visit the stunning York Minster, the famous Shambles street and live the York history at the JORVIK Viking Centre, National Railway Museum and York Castle Museum. York is a year round destination offering a lively café bar and superb dining culture with vibrant entertainment and festivals. Ideally located as a touring base, atmospheric York is roughly 2-hours by rail from London, Edinburgh and Manchester and on the edge of some of the most famously beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire. Other nearby attractions include Harrogate, Leeds and delightful Whitby on the East coast just an hour by car or train.
