Our home

Our home is a beautiful 5 bedroom Grade II* listed 300 year old Georgian farmhouse.

We have spent the past two years completely renovating it as it was derelict when we bought it. Everything has been done from scratch, from a new roof, to rewiring, replumbing, new floors, heating system installed (underfloor heating with individual controls in all rooms), new bathrooms, etc. We have been very particular about getting it all right as this is our 'forever home', and the renovations have been a labour of love! We are just finishing the house off now, so will add more photos as each room is completed.

It has 5 bedrooms - 3 doubles (one of which also has a double sofa bed in), one twin, and one with bunk beds, so would sleep 12.

The 20 metre long (yes, really!) kitchen/breakfast/family room is a very large stunning room which overlooks the garden and where we spend the majority of our time.

There is also a drawing room, dining room, two bathrooms (one of which can be used as an en-suite), wet room (with shower), downstairs toilet, study, utility room and boot room.

It sits in 1.5 acres of garden, although we haven't yet tackled that project, so really it's just a big field with a large pond in the middle and some children's play equipment!

We adore our very special home, and hope that you will too. It is the archetypal English period home, in an idyllic setting, and a very special place to spend time.

Who we are

  1. We are a couple in our late thirties/early forties with two young children age 8 & 6, so we have many toys/DVDS and equipment for children. We have a dog (Rufus - who would be boarded whilst you are here), 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, several chickens and ducks (help yourself to fresh organic eggs for breakfast!).

We love to travel for holidays and long weekends but we are limited to school holidays. We are now looking for a 2-3 week swap for August 2014, ideally in Canada, Africa, or New England.

We'd love to hear from you.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are in a rural location, with fields surrounding the house and a working farm next door. Our most frequent visitors are the deer/pheasants/guinea fowl that visit the garden!

The village we live in has 2 pubs and a village shop, so caters for essentials, and Wokingham is a 10 minute drive away, and has many restaurants and shops.

Many popular areas of the UK are within easy reach from this central location, including London (approximately one hour), Windsor (approximately half an hour), Oxford (approximately one hour) and Bath (approximately one hour).
