Our home

Our home is in a quiet road close to the centre of Wokingham http://www.wokinghamtwinning.org.uk/wokingham.html, but within walking distance of open countryside.

There are four large double bedrooms, two of which have en-suites. Downstairs there is a large lounge/diner, kitchen and study. A patio door gives good views of the garden, which has frequent visits from foxes.

We have two cars and a motorhome, and would consider including any of these in a house-swap.

Property features

Who we are

  1. My wife and I are in our early 60's and semi-retired. My name is Alan and I am an electronic engineer working mainly on software. My wife, Christina, is from Cork in Ireland, and works part-time caring for dementia patients.

We have two sons, Paul and Ian. Paul lives in the Northern Beaches near Sydney, Australia, and has two small children, so we would like to house-swap to that area so we can spend more time with the family. Ian is single and living in Wellington, New Zealand, so we are also interested in house-swaps there.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is close to the centre of Wokingham, which is a market town about 25 miles from London. Windsor Castle is about 15 miles from us.

Ideally located as a touring base, our town offers easy access to the cities of Oxford, Windsor and Henley in around an hour and the tourist attractions of Stonehenge, the New Forest and the Cotswolds in similar time. For teenagers, Thorpe Adventure Park is about 35 miles away with large scale roller-coasters and rides.

We live 5 minutes walk from the railway station, from which it is 60 minutes to the centre of London. Trains run until the early hours of the morning so going to a West End Show or dinner is not a problem.
