Our home

This charming Victorian terraced house in the heart of Windsor is perfect for exploring Windsor and Eton on foot, whilst providing easy access by train or car to London, Oxford and Heathrow airport. It has been my family's home for the last 30 years, and throughout I have tried to reflect the heritage of the property with Victorian-inspired decor and furnishings to make the most of its original features.
There are two living rooms with working fireplaces for the winter in addition to, or instead of, the central heating. One has a digital flat screen T.V with a DVD and video player. In addition there is a dining room and cute kitchen (according to my 7yr old granddaughter!). Upstairs there is a master bedroom with 5ft bed, a second with 4.6 double and a smaller room with 2 bunk beds for smaller persons, along with the bathroom.

Who we are

  1. I am a retired art teacher with two adult sons, one of whom is married with 3 small children (they all live elsewhere!). I would stay in your home with one of a number of friends, or maybe some of my family if the exchange accomodation was large enough and the dates were convenient for them. So - I am flexible. I love exploring ancient cities in particular, and am a 'culture' addict in general. A beautiful coast, or countryside with woods and water, would be even better as added bonus.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The immediate locality serves a wide range of interests from stately homes and geogeous gardens, through children's adventure parks to sporting activites. Dorney Court is a splendid tudor mansion, just beyond Eton, a little further from our neighbourly Windsor Castle, while Legoland is a 20 minute bus ride. Thorpe Park, the adventure park for all ages, is a reasonable distance for a day out, while Slough, of 'The Office' fame, is 7 mins away by rail branch line and has a cinema and an ice skating rink. There is rowing at Henley, and of course, horse-racing at Ascot and in Windsor itself. The extensive Savill gardens nearby provide horticultural interest throughout the seasons and are a delight.
Oxford is within a hour away by car or train, while Paddington Station in the centre of London, is 20 minutes by rail from Slough. London's Waterloo station is 45 minutes direct from Windsor and has very close access to the Southbank Cultural complex, London Eye, Aquarium and Theatreland.
