Our home

We have a 3 bedroom Victorian house, which is full of character, nestled off-road in it's own private gardens, yet central to all amenities e.g shops, public houses, restaurants, multi-plex cinema, railway station, motorway, bus service etc.
The house is very comfortable with two living rooms, downstairs cloakroom, dining kitchen and, upstairs, all three bedrooms are en-suite. We also have a wood burning stove in the lounge and a very large supply of wood in our two woodsheds.
We have a sunny aspect and distant views of the sea and the Welsh mountains. We are pleased to say that our home proved popular with the exchangers who stayed here during six months in 2011/12 and 2013/14

Who we are

  1. We are May and Les, early retiries in our early sixties, we take much pride in our home and would take great care of yours. We are both keen on personal fitness and walked the Coast to Coast from the West Coast of Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay on the East Coast. We did this in September 2012 where we met many Australians who had travelled over just to do the walk. Our daughters both live in Australia where we have spent a lot of time and where we did a six month series of house swaps in 2011/12 and 2013/14 and although we like to visit other place in the world too, Australia, particularly Sydney and Melbourne, will be our priority, particularly Sept '15 to March '16. For dates outside that period, we will be open to offers foe other destinations.

We are 45 minutes from Manchester, 30 minutes from North Wales and just 25 minutes from the ancient Roman city of Chester. The train to Liverpool is a 5 minute walk away taking you to our world famous city in just 15 minutes and from there a bus could take you to Liverpool John Lennon Airport where budget airlines Easyjet and Ryanair fly to all destinations in Europe and beyond. The ferry terminals in nearby Birkenhead and Liverpool have daily car ferries to the Isle of Man and Ireland.

Nearby, we are 10 minutes walk away from New Brighton promenade and beaches with a delightful local theatre, bowling alley, bowling greens and bistros, coffee shops and multi-plex cinema. Spectacular views of the Liverpool waterfront across the Mersey with views of the Irish Sea beyond. We live on the Wirral peninsula which has a wealth of local walks with spectacular views of the Dee Estuary and beyond. There is also an excellent golf course within walking distance as well as a 'pitch and putt'. There is a pathway where you can walk or cycle to Hoylake or West Kirby (venue for the 2014 Open Golf Championships)or, in the opposite direction, Egremont or Seacombe where you can catch the 'Ferry across the Mersey'.
