Our cottage was built in the 1950's and is set in beautiful gardens that surround the house. We moved here only 3 years ago and have redecorated, renovated and replaced everything, including bathrooms, kitchen with american fridge, washing machine, dish washer, tumble dryer, conservatory and bedrooms. There is lots of art in all the rooms including the master bedroom with en-suite, a second bedroom with en-suite, family bathroom, study, large lounge dining room, large modern kitchen leading onto a 23' conservatory. We have all the usual tech. broadband, two 60" satellite Tv,s spare laptop and printer and central heating. In other words everything to make your stay comfortable and easy. The garden is very secluded and is laid with lawns and flowering shrubs and there is always a sunny spot any time of the day. There is offroad parking for 3 cars and use of garage if cars are exchanged. We live in a quiet lane on the edge of a typical Sussex village complete with Pub, cricket pitch and duckpond. The weather is the best in the UK as we are the furthest south and benefit from the protection of the South Downs ( a range of low hills to the north of us)
We are Betty and Tony both in our early 70,s and retired from printing and IT. Before retiring we spent most of our spare time running a scout group which we did for 26 years. After retiring we enjoyed 15 years of property development. We are very active now playing various racket sports, walking, singing in choirs, bridge and annoying Betty by playing my Ukelele. We have visited many countries and sailed in a lot of them. We have used Homeforexchange before and enjoyed many great exchanges. We would like to exchange in countries that are warm during October and April and we can do non-simultaneous exchanges as we have a motorhome to use. Use of our car is possible
Our village of Walberton is 5 miles from the south coast and its many outstanding beaches. There are opportunities for fishing, boating, surfing and generally messing about by the sea. The picturesque historic towns of Arundel with its huge castle dominating the quaint streets, and Chichester with its magnificient catherdral and nationally famous Theatre are only 5 miles away. There are several Roman villas in the area and on the Goodwood estate ( 6 miles away)you can see some of the best horse racing in the world and the two best historic motoring racing events anywhere, obviously depending on the time of year. Goodwood House is also worth a visit for its grandeur and collection of Canelletto's . Go two miles north of us and there are unlimited miles of country footpaths, quaint villages and great pubs. 25 miles away is the historic Portsmouth Dockyard where you can see Lord Nelson's flag ship the Victory along with the Mary Rose, one of Henry v111's battleships and many more exhibits. London is only 55 miles away and the local station, four miles away has direct links that take approx. 90 minutes. We have the best of everything within driving distance, good shopping, restaurants, entertainment, countryside, coastline and good weather
