“We four seniors spent a week in Duncan's home. The home was clean and comfortable. Duncan want out of his way to see to it that we had a great time in his home. There was shopping for anything we desired and good restaurants near the home. The home is well located very near the train which we used very successfully and nemours sites well worth seeing. Among the site we enjoyed were Stonehenge(amazing). The city of Bath (by train), Wells for the Cathedral, The Cots Worths were really beautiful old towns, Highcliar Castle from Dalton Abby. There is a wonderful castle hear Duncan's home which escapes me but is well worth seeing it even has a zoo. We drove Duncan's car and it operated perfectly. Duncan left our home very clean, we would be happy for his beautiful family to use our home again. I can highly recommend an exchange with Duncan.”

Our home
Our home is a large 3 bedroom Victorian town house very close to the centre of Trowbridge, located in a quiet tree-lined street. On the ground floor we have a lounge/diner with a working Victorian fireplace for those chilly evenings, large modern kitchen/breakfast room and original tiled hallway with under-stair storage. The first floor has 2 double bedrooms, the family bathroom with toilet and shower, and seperate WC. The second floor has probably the largest of the 3 bedrooms. Outside, we have a large decking area with seating and a small lawn. The street has unlimited parking on both sides and all the neighbours are friendly and helpful.

Who we are
-
My wife and I run a small family healthcare business nearby our home in the beautiful English westcountry. We have 2 young daughters (age 3 and 2) and enjoy outdoor life, visiting museums, cafes, beaches and travelling to new places. We have a very special place in our hearts for USA, as we actually got married in Savannah GA and have enjoyed many vacations in different parts of this vast and wonderful country.
As yet we are newbies to house swapping, but are very excited to hopefully arrange a vacation so please get in contact if you're interested. We would not rule out a vacation anywhere in the world), but are very interested in the cities of New York and Boston. Also love the idea of visiting some of the fabulous scenery of Canada and USA (Rockies/Niagara/Yellowstone etc).

Where is it?
Your neighbourhood
Trowbridge is Wiltshire's county town, it has a once weekly farmers market, large park, multi-screen cinema, several modern restaurants, pubs and cafes. There is also a large swimming pool and sports centre, all of these attractions are within a 10 minute walk. There are numerous golf courses within 20 minutes (Cumberwell Park being my own hunting ground!), and Ryder Cup 2010 host course 'Celtic Manor' within an hour drive (well worth a visit).
We are just a 2 minute walk to the train station (Bath 20 mins, Bristol 35 mins, Salisbury 40 mins, Cardiff 1 hr, Southampton 1 hr, London 2 hrs). We are a short drive to Stonehenge, the historic cities of Salisbury and Bath, and for a little more of the Big city hustle... Bristol (one of the most underrated cities in UK).
Bradford on Avon - The idyllic town is a 5 min drive or a picturesque 40 minute walk (along the canal path) and is a real gem with typically cosy pubs and cafes.
Bath - A beautiful Roman city situated on natural hot water springs. You can visit the original Roman Baths and have traditional afternoon tea here or alternatively, pamper yourself in the brand new city centre spa which has an amazing roof top pool with views of the city!
Lacock - a small village just a 20 minute drive away, which is owned by the National Trust and is a well used location for filming period dramas and movies such as Downton Abbey and Harry Potter!
