Our home

We offer a clean, comfortable home on three floors in Todmorden, a small town nestling in the Pennine hills . There are two bedrooms (one double and one single)and a study on the first floor and a further double bedroom in the loft accessed by a spiral staircase. The lounge has a large bay window making the room lovely and light and the dining room opens onto the kitchen. The small back garden is something of a suntrap so is lovely for sitting / eating out when weather permits. The house is 10 mins. walk to the bus and train stations and to the shops and leisure centre.

Who we are

  1. We are Anne (64) and Colin (67), a married couple with 2 grown up children. Colin taught children with special needs all his adult life and I was a social worker and teacher. We love adventure and have lived in Mozambique and Northern Spain. Although we no longer work we love to stay active and enjoy walking in the hills and swimming regularly. We have had several very successful exchanges, to Australia ,France, and Canada amongst others. We are open to any offers as we love to travel anytime and (almost) anywhere.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Set amidst the Pennine hills our town is ideally located as a touring base offering easy access to the cities of Manchester and Leeds in around an hour(regular train service) and to Bronte Country, the Yorkshire Dales and the coast in a similar time. Todmorden and the nearby town of Hebden Bridge are renowned for their markets, interesting shops, and the canal boat trips along the Rochdale canal. For those enjoying more active pursuits there are a multitude of waymarked walks throughout the hills (some from right outside our door) and the nearby leisure centre has fitness rooms, swimming pool and much more. All in all the area is lovely with good communications, excellent shopping and gorgeous scenery.
