We live in a 17th century thatched farmhouse on the edge of the ancient village of Crowcombe in the heart of the Quantock Hills. The farmhouse has loads of character with a large inglenook fireplace in the sitting room and the original bread oven in the kitchen. The interior has been sympathetically furnished to maintain the traditional look. There are extensive lawns, gardens and paddocks with ponies, sheep and hens.
There is a large games barn where pool, table tennis and darts can be played.
The house is situated in a peaceful setting on the very edge of the village .
Hi, we are Bruce and Jacqui, a semi-retired couple who run a small holiday cottage business. Bruce was a dairy farmer before moving to the area to pursue his love of the countryside. along with his partner Jacqui who worked in HR.
We make the most of the wonderful walking this area is famous for and
enjoy a good social life in this very friendly village.
Travelling is an important part of our lives especially now that our daughter has located to Sydney with her family.
The Quantock Hills was the first area in the UK to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956. A footpath opposite our entrance will take you directly to the top of the hills and across the surrounding countryside which has changed very little from the days it inspired the romantic poets Coleridge and Wordsworth. Just a few minutes walk will find you in the heart of the village with its lovely church, shop and traditional pub serving great food.
Our nearest town is Taunton (20mins drive) from where you can catch a train to London (2hrs).
Bristol International airport is a 1 hour drive away giving access to most of Europe.
