Superbly renovated farmhouse close to main cities

“I loved my stay at Muriel & Pauls cottage, it was so peaceful, the daffodils were in bloom and the garden bust into life while we were there. I loved the soft sounds of the flowing burn, the rustling of the tree's, the birds chirping and the daily visit from the red squirrels. The cottage is welcoming, well heated with central heating and two wood heaters. The shower has a great supply of hot water. The beds were comfortable and cosy, everything was clean and fresh. The kitchen has everything you could ever need. For our arrival there was a basket of goodies to get us started without having to go shopping. Amenities are within a short drive, including Castle Fraser where we would walk, have morning tea, scones with jam and cream. It was easy to get to any of the major areas but there are so many beautiful places to discover within the area. Being golfers we tried four courses in the area and loved all of them but my favourite was Inchmarlo at Banchory. Muriel and Paul were very easy to communicate with and our only disappointment was that we didn't get the opportunity to meet up due to flight changes. We were there for a month but that just wasn't enough time for me as there are so many more places I wanted to get to. As we have both enjoyed our exchanges we have agreed that another exchange would be great at a later date. ”

Muriel et Paul nous ont laissé leur maison comme à des amis ou bien de la famille, avec plein d'attentions, de la nourriture dans le réfrigérateur à notre arrivée, des petits cadeaux écossais, une documentation pour notre séjour extraordinaire et nous avons pu, en plus, faire connaissance. “We have spent a wonderful time at Muriel and Paul´s house. Everything was perfectly prepared for us. They were very helpful in arranging things to make it easier for us. Thank you so much! The house is fantastic! Well-equipped kitchen (with everything you may need for cooking), lots of space to rest, nice comfortable bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. They have got a lovely garden with beautiful flowers, birds and sitting area - also with grill/barbecue possibilities and pizza oven (which we have tried 2 times and made incredible home-made pizzas! ) Our daughters loved the swings in the garden and also the toys. The location is nice to explore. There´s a plenty of information books about the area, tips for trips. You can easily spend there a long time to explore at least a part of the beautiful surrounding coutryside. We are looking forward to meet Muriel and Paul in our house next year. ”

“Nous avons très particulièrement apprécié notre échange avec Muriel et Paul, très sympathiques et chaleureux, comme des amis. La maison et l\'environnement sont très calmes et reposants, avec un magnifique jardin fleuri. De multiples choses à faire et à découvrir, châteaux, ballades, golfs, restaurants... avec une documentation sérieusement préparée par nos hôtes. la maison est très bien aménagée et idéalement située. La cuisine vaut le détour ... On aurait aimé partager un repas concocté par Paul et Muriel. Un échange à recommander chaudement. L’Écosse restera une de nos destinations favorites. Merci à Muriel et à Paul de nous avoir permis de vivre cette expérience.”

“Thank you Muriel and Paul for lending us your very lovely house . It is surrounded by a very nice garden full of birds and squirrels and its position offers the possibility to hike either in the mountains ( wonderful walks in Deeside in the mountains such as Linn of Dee or Loch Muick ) or on the seaside on top of the cliffs ( fantastic walk from Cruden Bay to Boddam ) . The area has lots of nice castles and Aberdeen is only a few miles away . We were very happy to meet our hosts who are really friendly and very nice people . Thank you again for letting us use your car . Come whenever you feel like it to the Tarn area , we would be happy to spend some time with you again ! Grosses bises à vous 2 .
