Our home

Our home is a large comfortable Victorian house in Stratford, east London. The house has many original, traditional Victorian features, including a fireplace and wooden floors throughoutbut. It is modern, warm and comfortable. We have a large family kitchen with a range cooker, a large living room, with a view of the park and three large bedrooms. The small but well designed garden has two seating areas and a small lawn. Our street is quiet with friendly, welcoming neighbours, but close enough to busy neighbourhood shops. Our house is well and comfortably furbished and provides a relaxing and inviting place for adults as well as a safe and entertaining environment for children.

Who we are

  1. We are both originally from the UK, in our mid-thirties and both involved in the charity sector. We have a 9 year old son and a cat, who would be included in the home exchange (she just needs some food and the occassional bit if attention)
We love to travel but have not done a home exchange before. We are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see yours.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Stratford is a vibrant and exciting, urban area with a distinct multi-cultural character. It is the site for the Olympic games in 2012. Shops, cafes and restaurants reflect the many varied communities. Stratford is a transport hub with trains going out to countryside and the sea-side and 3 train lines in to the city and the west end, London's west end is 20 minutes tube ride away. The house is opposite a large park, which has tennis courts, an excellent children's playground and an ornamental garden. There is a large swimming pool/sports centre two minutes away from the house. From upstairs you can see Canary Wharf which is the centre of the Docklands area of shops, bars and restaurants. As a result of the succcessful Olympic bid there are many oppportunities to do sport in the area; especially for children.
