Our home

Once through the main door the house feels like somewhere out in the countryside. The old coach house in the back helps with that. ( downstairs our 2 painting and sculpture studios, above a small flat ). The garden currently flanked on one side by a building site - a school gets enlarged and work is scheduled to finish in spring 2013. The other side of our garden faces the usual London row of gardens. The interior of the main house is spacious and light. Simple well working kitchen and modern bathroom. 5 bedrooms one of which is a large converted loft. We can also offer to exchange our 5 bed room cottage on the Hebridean island of Tiree, situated directly at the beach. Please refer to ID 38931

Who we are

  1. We are 2 artists/lecturers with 4 children aged from 11 to 19. This year will probably the last one that will manage to travel together as a family. We'd like to go to Italy but we are also completely open to other ideas.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Stoke Newington is suburbia as central as possible, just not at all sleepy. Our very quiet road meets a busy High street with good local theatre and cinema, african/turkish street market just around the corner, many restaurants cafes, music venues and other artist studios. Loads of busses/train (and soon the tube) into the West End and to Shoreditch/Brick Lane.
