We have a lovely, comfortable house. We have a large kitchen with conservatory, sitting room and study. There are three double bedrooms and a smaller bedroom with double bed. There are three separate toilets, a shower room and bathroom. We love our garden, it is large and secluded. Everyone who has swapped with us has really enjoyed their stay. The house will be left ready for you in pristine, neat and tidy condition. The house has all conveniences will regard to television, music and a well resourced kitchen.
We are more than happy to swap cars and are able to negotiate the most convenient drop off, pick up arrangements.
Jayne is a vice principal in a large 11 to 18 secondary school. Chris is a maths teacher. We have three children: Isobel, 12, Finn 17 and Charlotte, 20 who is studying history at University College London. We may not be accompanied by all three children.
We love travelling and have participated in swaps in USA, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand as well as in Europe and in the UK.
We have a border terrier called Scout who will be looked after elsewhere during our swap.
We live in a lovely, safe neighbourhood, close to shops, pubs and restaurants. There is very easy access into Central Manchester but also into the Peak District, Cheshire countryside and further afield to Wales and the Lake District. You can drive to Wales in an hour and a half to visit stunning castles, villages, beaches and a whole different country! The Lake District is famous for connections to the Romantic poets such as Wordsworth and has beautiful scenery and villages. Liverpool is 50 minutes drive and is a wonderful vibrant city, the birthplace of the Beatles. It has great museums and galleries. You can also easily get to York, originally a Viking city, with wonderful medieval walls and Minster. London is a very easy two hours 2 by train, close enough to visit in a day, or better still you could then stay overnight easily to see more. Edinburgh is 3 hours by train, the capital of Scotland and a wonderful city in its own right. Manchester is a lovely cosmopolitan city, with theatres, art galleries, restaurants and excellent shopping. It is a very pleasant and very safe city with many music and art venues. There are also a number is smaller districts close to our home, such as Didsbury, with great shopping and restaurants, that are also well worth popping into and visiting . Didsbury has a number of excellent pubs if you would like to sit and sample British ale or have a traditional pub lunch.
We are an easy 15 minutes from Manchester Airport by car/taxi. If you have an interest in history or in visiting stately homes and history, there are a large number of interesting National Trust properties very close by.
