Our home

Situated on the East Bank of Loch Lomond, in the beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park lies Dubh Loch Cottage (pronounced "doo"). A truly unique, traditional Scottish cottage built in the 1750's and fully refurbished and upgraded to an exceptionally high standard by it's present owners. Dubh Loch sits in an enviable position with magnificent views from every window in an acre of gardens and woodland, complete with it's own burn running around the property.

Accommodation:

3 bedrooms (1 king complete with full en-suite bath and shower on the ground floor, 1 double and 1 twin upstairs) to accommodate 6 people, cot and high chair available . 2nd full bathroom with free standing bath and separate shower. Sitting room/ dining room featuring original wooden beams with wood burning stove, 2nd sitting room, fully fitted kitchen (double oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer). Solid oak floors, full gas central heating and double glazing, satellite TV, DVD, HI-FI. All linen/towels provided. Pets by arrangement. PLEASE NOTE NO SMOKING ALLOWED.

Grounds:

Surrounded on all sides by woodland, Dubh Loch provides the perfect country retreat. To the front of the property lies the Dubh Loch (the dark loch), with Ben Dubh in the distance. To the rear of the cottage, a burn runs through the grounds providing a stunning view from the dining room. Take a walk through the woods or simply relax watching the wildlife (deer and birds of prey are frequently seen). If you're feeling particularly brave there is a 5 foot deep "plunge pool" at the base of the small waterfall in the burn! Large sweeping drive with plenty of parking. Large garden complete with all garden furniture for evening dining by the burn or watching the sunset over Ben Dubh. New free standing conservatory, wood shed (all wood provided free) and lockable secure shed for bikes etc.

Who we are

  1. Susie and Simon have three children 13, 11 and 8. We are both in our forties and are a doctor and a commercial airline pilot. We have never exchanged before, however, have travelled extensively with the children. Dubh Loch Cottage is our holiday home, therefore, able to swap more flexibly with dates. We are wanting to travel in April 2013. Willing to "pet sit"
