Our home

My lovely peaceful home (Victorian Cottage) is charmingly beautiful painted inside in Farrow and Ball estate colours with extensive countryside views from all windows-4miles in one direction and 2mls in the opposite direction.

It has a beautiful Amdega hard wood tiled floor conservatory overlooking a large garden where I love to relax with a book or just watching the outside space. The garden has several 'rooms' over about 2/3 acre. There is plenty of off road parking but no garage.

The kitchen is large and is a living kitchen with electric 4 door AGA so the house is always warm and food is wonderfully cooked. Work surfaces are black granite over shaker type painted hand made kitchen cupboards complemented by true antique pine dressers. There is a country antique table which seats 6. A separate laundry and boiler room are in an out building.

The living room has a wonderful wood burner and is easy to light and is a most comfortable room with large Panasonic flat screen TV.
The French style dining room can seat 8 around a formal table if fine dining is your style.

Upstairs are 2 main bedrooms and a small single room. All bedrooms have an en suite and the master bedroom has a marvelous power shower and bath.

Outside is a large but presentable storage building but not accessible to guests other than to the garden furniture and BBQ accouterments and party glasses and plates etc. There is a large paved seating area and furniture under a pergola and a gas BBQ available.

I love living here. Please keep it warm for me while I visit my grandchildren in New Zealand!

Who we are

  1. I live alone but never feel alone. I am a semi-retired professional medical person whose grandchildren will grow up in New Zealand.

I would like to start travelling primarily visiting Auckland but also 'stopping off' at other countries on the way there and back!

It would seem a shame to lock my house up while I am away as it is a very enjoyable place to be. I would hope that whoever stayed would enjoy it too and look after it like I.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

With such wonderful open space, walking on 'dressed shoulders' around the surrounding fields or cycling in the country lanes is idyllic. I also have a small dinghy on a local large lake 10 minutes away which would be available at sailors risk during summer months.

My home may feel remote but it is also in a totally accessible area, within 5 minutes from a vibrant market town and 15 minutes from another market town with a small theatre which always has a superb program running.

The surrounding area is a history treasure trove being accessible to Norwich, Southwold, Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds, Lakenham and the heart of Suffolk.
