Our home

Our home is light and airy, clean and well maintained and centrally heated. It sits on a plot of one fifth of an acre with a south facing garden and is fenced all round. There are two patio areas and plenty of garden furniture, there are bikes in the sheds, badminton equipment and a table tennis table. We have a well equipped family kitchen with a breakfast table to seat 4, electric hob, double oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, with separate utility room off the garage which houses the washing machine and tumble dryer and an extra fridge useful for cold drinks in the summer months. There is a lounge/dining room with open fire, and two sets of patio doors, one opening into the garden and the other into a conservatory which enjoys views of the lawns and barbecue area. The TV and DVD player and music system are in the lounge. There is a playroom with TV and X Box. The master bedroom is on the ground floor and has a dressing area and en suite shower room. On the first floor there is another generous double room and two singles, each with plenty of wardrobe space; and a modern bathroom with bath and a separate shower cubicle.

Who we are

  1. We are Jenny and Doug, a married couple with four grown up children. Doug is retired and Jenny works on a freelance basis in recruitment which allows us plenty of time to travel whenever and wherever. Our children have left home other than the youngest who is still at University. We enjoy coastal locations, particularly sandy beaches, but are also interested in walking and cycling and visiting places of interest. We prefer to holiday in a quiet location but like to be able to access restaurants and amenities on foot, if possible. We are open to all locations!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Ideally, located as a touring base, South Heath is a peaceful rural hamlet on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, offering excellent opportunities for countryside walks, pub lunches and bike rides. Great Missenden is 5 minutes by car and has a supermarket, a good choice of local shops and restaurants and the Roald Dahl Museum. From here you can take the train into London to view the sights, a 40 minute journey. Our nearest major shopping centre is High Wycombe, 15 minutes by car, with cinemas, bowling and nightlife. We are 45 minutes from the historic city of Oxford, the Cotswolds, Whipsnade Zoo and the Roman city of St Albans; an hour from Windsor for the Castle and Legoland and Thorpe Park.
