Our home

Our home is a two bedroomed bungalow, pleasantly situated on a hillside on the outskirts of the small West Yorkshire village of Steeton, and having extensive views over the surrounding countryside. It is comfortably furnished. There is a pleasant lounge with dining area, well fitted kitchen, main bedroom with king size bed, second bedroom with double bed and a modern family bathroom. We have a small, pleasant garden with an area for sitting when the weather is suitable.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are Nigel and Sylvia a retired couple in our late 60s/early 70s and we have lived in our present home for the last 16 years.
We have now completed several successful exchanges, and have exchanges organised with Australia for this coming Winter.
We are now looking for a 2-3 week exchange into New Zealand in Nov/Dec, or Dec/Jan 2012/13. Ideally we would like our stay to cover the Christmas period. This can be non simultaneous.
In addition to this we are happy to consider all other destinations, but especially europe and nearer to home, for other holiday breaks 2012 and beyond, and are flexible with dates. We will consider all options and reply to all enquiries.
We are non smokers and would wish the house to be kept as a no smoking area.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Steeton is a small West Yorkshire village situated midway between Keighley and the market town of Skipton, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, and having public transport connections to both of these towns. It is conveniently placed for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. We are one mile from the Leeds-Liverpool canal where it is possible to hire a canal boat for the day or week or just walk the towpath. Historic Haworth, home of the Brontes is close by. Leeds is the nearest large city which offers good shopping and entertainment.
We have a local bus service with links to various towns and villages and a national bus service providing links countrywide. We have a direct rail link to Skipton, Carlisle or Morecambe and to Leeds. From Leeds there is a comprehensive rail link to all parts of the country, i. e. Scotland or London. A car is not essential but would be more convenient. Leeds/Bradford is our nearest airport.
There is a leisure centre nearby with a swimming pool and various sporting and keep fit facilities.
Good area for walking.
Theatres and museums in the area.
