Our home

Deer Park Cottage is a pretty 1840s gamekeepers cottage It's main attraction is the stunning location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and next to a historic deer park.

The cottage stands alone in the landscape - but we are not isolated. We live 6 miles from the historic town of Shrewsbury.

Downstairs - a farmhouse kitchen/dining room, living room with woodburning stove, study, pantry/utility, hall and toilet.

Upstairs 2 double rooms, and 2 single rooms (with the possibility of adding another single bed), and a bathroom with bath and shower.

Outside there 6 acres of space to enjoy. We have a fire-pit and BBQ, outdoor seating, organic vegetable garden, hay meadow, orchard, and chickens.

Children can have freedom here to play in the 3 acres of garden, cycle on the long drive, swim in the small lake, trampoline, play badminton and watch the deer. Adults will enjoy the peace, quiet and dark night skies.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of 5 - our kids are 17, 15 and 14. We all enjoy the outdoor life, and exploring new places. We like walking, nature, history, cycling, swimming, gardening.

If you stayed in our home we would do our best to make your stay enjoyable. If you wanted any information about local facilities, I could research it for you before you came. If we stayed in your home we would treat it with great care - as we hope you would ours.

We are looking for weekend and school holiday breaks in the UK. We would also like to explore other countries and cultures - we hope by staying in your home we would get a more real experience than staying in a tourist spot.
