Our home

The house is very light and looks directly onto the village green and church at the front, while at the back the views are over the garden and field which is home to our two horses and sheep (Gordon and Bonnet). Facing south and west, there is sunlight at all times of the day and plenty of places to relax, both inside and out. We have a glass room that looks out onto a walled front garden with views to the green and church (illuminated at night); sliding doors lead onto a gravelled terrace with chairs and table or there is a six-seater table inside. The kitchen has french doors and bay windows that look onto the garden; you can eat inside at a table that comfortably seats 8 or outside under the apple trees.
We have one double bedroom downstairs with an ensuite shower room, a double room with ensuite bath and shower room upstairs plus another bathroom and three bedrooms. One of these is a single bedded room, another has two single beds, while the third is a box room with a double sofa bed.
The house sits in about 4 acres of land which includes the horses' paddock and a stable yard. There is a tree swing and large trampoline. We have a cat who is fairly self sufficient as are the sheep. We can make arrangements if necessary for our dogs and the horses, although keen and experienced riders would certainly be able to take advantage of the many bridlepaths in the area.
We also have a three-bedroomed flat in London available, centrally situated for easy access to the city, Shoreditch, Broadway Market and Brick Lane.

Who we are

  1. We are Jane and David, an English teacher and graphic designer respectively, and our two daughters: Molly who works in theatre and Thea who works in fashion. We have had many very successful exchanges in Europe, America and North Africa and have really enjoyed making new friends and having a taste of someone else's life. We look forward to more interesting experiences.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The location is peaceful and rural while enjoying the benefits of being in the middle of a village. A traditional country pub is almost on the doorstep and serves an excellent range of home cooked food and local ales. We have an excellent, well-stocked village shop and café selling fresh, local produce and serving coffees and lunches. There are lovely country walks and rides from the house (either by bicycle or on horseback). Within the area there are many picturesque villages, rural pubs, historic towns and stately homes. Salisbury, Longleat, Stourhead and Stonehenge are all about 30 minutes away, while the Dorset coast and the city of Bath are less than an hour's drive. We are just 10 minutes from a station with a direct train link to London which takes about 90 minutes.
