Our home

The Cottage is in a majestic, elevated position, on the cliff top between the village and cove at Sennen, enjoying superb panoramic views. It dates back to the 1870's and was originally built by the Trinity House Company to house the families of the lightkeepers on the Longships Lighthouse which lies about a mile directly off-shore.

The cottage (no.1) sleeps four, downstairs includes entrance hall, bathroom with shower over bath, WC, fully fitted kitchen inc. oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher & microwave, utility room with washing machine & tumble dryer, separate dining room, lounge with multi-fuel stove & T.V/DVD. We have oil-fired central heating & hot water & a good supply of fuel for the woodburner.
Two bedrooms (one double & one twin bedded) on the 1st floor, lie in bed and watch the ocean.

Most rooms have Stunning Sea & Rural views. There is a small lawned front garden with a gravelled terrace area & picnic table, further grassed areas and an enclosed private courtyard to the rear also with benches/table, a wooden kid's playhouse, a small outhouse, an outside tap, washing line and drying area for wetsuits etc.
There is ample parking in the grounds.
We feel lucky to found a little slice of heaven here in Cornwall!

Who we are

  1. I am Caroline, I work for the local council & Dain, my husband works in engineering, Lucy (age 9) attends school locally. We all enjoy the outdoor life that living here provides, we have a small fishing boat we keep in the harbour at Sennen, both Dain & Lucy use it to go fishing, snorkeling and spearfishing. I join them occasionally when the sea is flat calm to try and catch a glimpse of the odd basking shark, seal or dolphin. We also have a horse which lives at Dain's parents property about 5 miles away, we all like to horseride as much a we can. We have already completed two house swaps and are now looking for a long-term swap as we were granted a permanent resident visa last year and now want to give living & working in Australia a try. We have travelled both the East & West Coast in the past, our first choice would now be the Bunbury, Bussleton, Dunsborough areas of WA but will look at any offers!

The Trinity Cottages stand in large, enclosed grounds, a truly peaceful setting from which spectacular sea and rural views can be enjoyed. The South West Coastal path and the Cornish Way cycle path are both within a few hundred metres of the house. The Land's End Hotel (the most Westerly point in England) can be seen from the front of the house.
The large sandy beach in the cove can be reached by footpath in approx 10 minutes, though the walk back up could take longer!
Cornwall, and particularly this part of West Cornwall are a popular tourist destination, people are drawn here year round for the beaches, historic castles & houses and the beautiful countryside.
West Cornwall, St Ives, Newlyn are world renowned by artists for the quality of the natural light. The Isles of Scilly are a short plane ride(or a slightly longer boat trip approx 2 hours)away.
Have a look at these websites, they can explain it better than I can! is run by the local lifeboat coxswain and has some great local pictures and information, also has loads of pictures & details about Cornwall, and includes a beautiful short video of an Aerial trip around West Cornwall which is well worth watching.
