Our home

I live in a comfortable, period property, built in the 1930s which has been a happy and relaxed family home originally designed as a bungalow but now has a light spacious living room on the first floor with two large sofas, a flat screen television, and a stove for cold days. Downstairs there are three recently decorated bedrooms, the Zoffany room (which is en-suite), the blue Meadow Sweet bedroom, and the 'Artist's' bedroom. There is a separate good-sized bathroom, a dining-room with sofa, and a small study. The dining-room leads into the kitchen which has a large window overlooking the back garden, the old backdoor then leads into a new, light and welcoming, conservatory. There is a small front garden, which provides off-road parking. The back garden is laid out in typical English style, with a patio area, lawn, a small pond, mature fruit trees.
The French house is in the beautiful Languedoc area, full of vines and olive trees. The house-overlooking the Cesse Valley- is 35 mins pleasant drive to the Mediterranean Sea, 5 mins or a 40mins walk to Minerve, the old cathare fortified village. The village has a quality yet excellent value restaurant,a lively cafe,a PO and a grocer's shop. The area is very scenic and full of delightful excellent restaurants. You will definitely need a car. ..The house has no garden but a small balcony with great views. The kitchen and showerroom are new.Kitchen/diningroom and showerroom downstairs, large livingroom on first floor and 2 communicating bedrooms on second floor. All rooms are southfacing,so very bright with extensive views over the village and its vineyards.

Who we are

  1. I am Noelle . Salisbury is such a comfortable and pretty town that it has retained me here for many years.I am a semi-retired French teacher.I have children in Spain and England which means I travel quite a lot in Europe mainly but really enjoy going further afield too.In the past with my late husband , I twice swapped houses whilst on a yearly teachers exchange in Perth and had holiday exchanges in Northumberland, Italy and Greece.
Each exchange was always very successful and we enjoyed the mutual friendliness and trust generated by this exchange of houses.
Besides my house in Salisbury, I can also offer my small but comfortable village house in the Minervois(South of France).

Your neighbourhood

My home is situated in East Harnham, twenty minutes walking distance from the centre of the medieval city of Salisbury, the route takes you past the Rose and Crown, over the river Avon, into the back gate of the Cathedral Close and past Salisbury Cathedral dating back to the 12th century. Within easy driving is Stonehenge, the ancient city of Bath, the historic port of Portsmouth, the New Forest and many south coast Dorset and Devon beaches, regular hourly services from Salisbury station will take you to the centre of London in just over an hour and an half. A little further away, within two to three hours driving distance, you will find the glorious countryside and stately homes of Sussex and Kent to the east, Oxford, Stratford-on-Avon and Wales to the north, and Exmoor, Dartmoor and Cornwall to the west.
