Our home

Our home is a large early Victorian town house, set in a pretty and busy village. We have lived here for 3 years, and have just finished the extensive renovations and redecorations that were nessecary. The accomodation is spread over 3 floors. There is a basement games room with bar football table, drum kit and WII consule. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with double beds, and a twin room. The house is great for family living, and entertaining. The kitchen/breakfast room is always warm and inviting as the sun streams through the windows, and the lounge is a cosy place to retire to complete with open fire. Outside we have a good size southfacing garden and terrace. The garden has play equipment, and a summer house which contains the bbq and all other garden furniture and toys. There are bicycles of all sizes available to use. The garden backs onto the village recreation ground with playground and playing fields.

Who we are

We are a family of 5. Frazer is an IT proffesional in the City of London, and I (Sarah) am a graphic designer working from home. We have three sons Alfie, Oscar and Sidney, aged 11, 9 and 5. We moved to Stansted Mountfitchet 3 years ago from central London, and think we have found the perfect location for enjoying, the best of both city and country. As well as trips to London and Cambridge for their many attractions, we also enjoy walking, cycling and generally getting out and about. We have taken great trouble to create a comfortable family home, and have taught our boys to respect both there own home and that of others.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The village of Stansted Mountfitchet is in a perfect location for visiting both London (40mins) and Cambridge (30mins). The Main railway line running between these two cities runs through the village and the station is a 5 minute walk from the house. The station also provides a link to Stansted Airport (one stop) for budget flights to Paris and other european destinations. The village itself has a good selection of restaurants and shops. The village even has a working windmill, and Saxon castle! There are facilities for tennis, cricket, football, skateboarding, cinema and swimming nearby. We are close to the market towns of both Bishops Stortford and Saffron Walden, and there are many picturesque villages to explore. The coast is 1 hour away, and the lovely beaches of Suffolk and Norfolk are within easy reach. There are lots of places of interest in the area for all ages, not least Audley End House and Hatfield Forest ancient woodlands.
