Our home

Our home is comfortable, very clean and spacious. It is at the head of a quiet cul de sac in an elevated position enjoying superb views over Tunbridge Wells. We have a beautiful landscaped garden arranged over various levels, areas of decking with a large paved terrace, where we BBQ regularly in the summer. The garden whilst enjoying lovely views is totally secluded and not overlooked. Our 4 children love playing in the garden, on the trampoline, and swings and when they were younger, in the wendy house (garden playhouse). The house is detached and arranged over 3 floors with 5 bedrooms, study/playroom, modern kitchen adjoining our dining room and very large sitting room with a 42" LCD TV. The main bedroom is on the first floor and has an en suite with power shower and a changing area with running machine and cross trainer. There is a balcony accessed from here overlooking the garden. Also on this floor are the boys bedrooms and family bathroom. On the top floor there are 2 more bedrooms, each with a double bed.

“It was our first exchange and Isabel really gave a hand by helping us to write a contract and well define the exchange terms. Isabel and Iain's house is a really beautiful (as described on their listing) and we wand to add that both their garden and Tunbridge Wells are beautiful. Around their house, many sights in the charming Kent/Sussex English country side... and London is CLOSE.. a direct train and you can reach the heart of the city within 50 minutes.. We are 100% positive on this exchange and now, really hope to renew the experience with others families! Alexandra and Marc.”

Who we are

We had our first home exchange in the summer of 2009 and our second in The Netherlands Easter 2011. We also exchanged with a family in Paris for Easter 2014. All were a great success! In 2015 we would like to stay somewhere warm for 2 weeks in late July early August. We would love this to be in the South of France, Greece or east coast of America. We are a family of 2 girls , aged 18 & 16 and 2 boys aged 14 and 11. Iain is a Partner in a financial services business locally. We love to travel and discovering new places. Our children are very well behaved and we will look after your house as if it were our own. We would love to be near a beach or find a house with a pool.

Ideally located as a touring base, Tunbridge Wells offers easy access to the cities of London (50 minutes by train), Brighton and Canterbury (within an hours drive). Tunbridge Wells itself is steeped in history, originally attracting people as a Spa town. The pretty colonnaded 18th Century walkway known as the Pantiles has become probably the most well known view of the town. This is a lovely place to browse, shop, eat and drink (5 minutes drive. In addition to all the well known sights and theatres in London, we are within easy range of some beautiful castles and stately homes, including Hever Castle, home of Henry VIII. Tunbridge Wells is in the heart of the Kent & Sussex countryside with many lovely local English pubs, ideal for a spot of lunch or just a drink. For teenagers, Chessington World Of Adventure and Thorpe Park is about 40 minutes drive away with large scale roller-coasters and rides.
