Our home

Our new, two double bedroom townhouse is comfortable, beautifully decorated and well furnished with all modern conveniences. Our lounge and bedroom furniture is all new and of very good quality. There are large plasma TVs in the lounge and master bedroom, plus super fast high optic broadband and a full package of Sky sports, movies etc. We have a small and very sunny rear garden with patio doors from the lounge and parking for two cars in front of the house. The house is in a very lovely and quiet neighbourhood with the main park and ride bus services two minutes walk away and the city centre is ten minutes away.

Who we are

  1. I am Charlotte, a nursing sister in surgery, and will be travelling with my partner Gavin. We are a young professional couple in our late twenties who enjoy having a comfortable home and would like to fund travel by house swapping with others. We would be interested in swapping for a week or so within the UK, particularly in London or Aberdeen, or for a couple of weeks to either Europe or USA. We look forward to hearing from you!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in Devon, 2 miles from Dartmoor National Park, 5 miles from the city of Plymouth and 6 Miles from Cornwall. There are excellent public transport links just 100 metres away and a good range of shops and pubs within 5 minutes walk. The area is steeped in history and culture, as well as offering lots of activities for families. Our house is within the Dartmoor National Park but we have easy access to the A38 and M5 motorway just 6 miles from us. The ancient Maritime city of Plymouth, from which the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to America, is only 10 miles away and provides museums, art galleries, theatres, restaurants, bars and a vast number of visitor attractions. Our surroundings are truly idyllic and offer you the opportunity to relax, go walking, hiking or horse riding, play golf, cycle and experience wildlife such as Dartmoor ponies, sheep, cattle and deer on the doorstep. There are beautiful Devon/Cornwall villages and towns in every direction offering an abundance of traditional events, country inns and stately homes to visit. There are also literary and film connections since "War Horse", "We Bought a Zoo", "Pride and Prejudice" and "Alice in Wonderland" were all filmed recently nearby and many "Poirot", "Miss Marple and "Sherlock Holmes" books/films were set here.

The countryside pictures here were taken within 3 miles of our home, although the beaches are about 15 miles away. Based in Dartmoor, visitors can easily travel to the neighboring counties of Dorset, Somerset and Cornwall - the renowned Eden Project is less than 40 miles away. Overseas visitors might also choose to spend a few days in London before or after travelling to Devon - we are 200 miles from the capital city with good road and rail links. There are also reasonably priced flights available from nearby Exeter Airport to visit most European capital cities and ferries from Plymouth to Santander in Spain and Roscoff in France. It is no exaggeration to say that you could stay in our home for months and yet enjoy a different adventure every day.
