Our home

We are open to suggestions during October half term 2018 or any school holiday apart from the summer. We would like anywhere in the U.K. that's fun and a bit different to Cornwall or anywhere in Europe that has a quick flight time. We also have friends in Huntsville, Tennessee who'd we love to visit but this is very niche. Our place is a spacious, very comfortably furnished, double glazed family house to sleep up to ten people. Virginia House is located less than 100 metres from the golden sands of Perranporth beach.

The three mile long beach is popular with surfers and families alike, with surf hire facilities in the village and a good selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants to cater for your everyday needs. Perranporth is also an excellent base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer and is within an easy drive of Newquay, Truro, Padstow, Falmouth, St Ives and Land's End. A variety of Cornwall's best tourist attractions, including the Eden Project, Healey's Cyder Farm, Dairyland and Cornwall's Crealy can all be found within a short drive. If it's walking and admiring the stunning Cornish coastline you like then the South West Coast Path is just around the corner, and we recommend a scenic walk to the picturesque village of St Agnes or to the lovely beach at Holywell Bay for the more energetic!

Accommodation in the main detached house is spacious and has been arranged over three floors.

Who we are

  1. We are the Bissenden's, my husband and I are both teachers and we have 3 small children ages 2, 3 and 5. We are looking to utilise our school holidays better by traveling more. We enjoy the outdoors and my husband loves to surf, our boys also love anything new and generally being outside.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The entrance hall leads to a large kitchen/diner which is well equipped with a good range of units, a large electric cooker, microwave, two fridges and dishwasher. A utility room just off the kitchen houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a freezer can be found in the boiler room, accessed from the courtyard. A large wooden dining table with chairs to seat ten people is situated in the open plan kitchen/dining area.

The comfortable separate lounge has two sofas and one armchair to seat eight people, a TV with DVD player and a hidden pull-down bar (sorry drinks not supplied!). Also downstairs is a bedroom with a double bed, a playroom with children's seating and activity table, toys and games, and a downstairs WC.

On the first floor bedrooms two and three each have a double bed, and bedrooms four and five both have twin beds. Also on the first floor is a family bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. Upstairs again to the second floor the master bedroom (bedroom six) can be found with its super king sized bed, ensuite shower, WC and hand basin, and wardrobes cleverly disguised behind a hidden door!

The house has central heating for the cooler days, a large enclosed level garden to the front of the house, and a driveway large enough for 3 or 4 medium sized cars.
