Our home

We have lived here for 16 years. Our house isn't huge but it's lovely and comfortable. We have a spacious kitchen/dining room, a large living room & a separate sun room which opens out into the garden and patio erea. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and shower.

John is a keen gardener. There is a larger front garden and a smaller garden at the back of the house with 2 patio areas and a small wildlife pond.

Who we are

  1. Our names are Diane & John. We are in our early 40's. John is a police officer & I work for a specialist Tour Operator specialising in the Azores. We have 3 children who are all in their late teens. The reason for us wanting a house swap is because our two boys are taking a gap year next January and have bought RWT's. We can't imagine not seeing them for a year, so have decided to join them for a month in August and spoil them a bit! We are first time house swappers and we feel that the Lake District is one of the best areas of England and very hard to beat!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Situated within a 15 minute walk of the town centre, with great views of Latrigg fell. Our house is opposite a townsfield common which is surrounded by trees, and the river Greta.Just 5 minutes walk from the house is the start of the old railway line which has been turned into a four mile stretch of paths which is great for walkers and cyclists. The path is used as part of the Coast to Coast cycling route. The old Druid stone circle is just up the hill from our house also. From here you have outstanding views of surrounding fells, Derwent water Lake and the valleys below. Our house backs onto a small quiet housing estate. Keswick has a population of approx 5,000. We have a fantastic Theatre on the Lake shore which has plays on year round. There is lots to do and see in the surrounding area. The Lake District is perfect for nature and wildlife and is the outdoor capital of England. Within a two hour drive you can visit, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.
