Our home

We built the home in 2014 to enjoy settling down and the slower pace before perhaps retirement. It is conveniently located close to a small parade of shops for the morning paper, and a bus stop where every ten minutes we can get to town if we don't fancy taking the car. The home is big enough for guests and each room has their own bathroom, with a downstairs double bedroom and wet room. Their are small manageable gardens. We have installed a swim spa for some light exercise or daily relaxation. Their are great views to wake up to off the sea and the fishing port of Brixham. The house has a well stocked kitchen with all the appliances to entertain or dinner for two with steamers, warming draws induction hob and Circo therm ovens. Their is a lovely wood burning stove for chilly nights, but the house is heated with underfloor heating and solar hot water.

Who we are

  1. Paul and I (Dana) have both come from a building background, we have built many homes in the South West off England, and Spain and now that we're getting to our retirement years, we built out present house GoldenEye for home exchange, easy to maintain, easy to lock up and leave... We enjoyed two house swaps with friends and now we're hooked... I still currently work for a developer but am getting used to slowing down and Paul still dabbles in building new homes, he won't stop that. I am a Canadian from Kingston Ontario and Paul a Londoner but we love travelling,

Your neighbourhood

Churston is a five minute drive to the home of Agatha Christie Greenaway and a trip would not be complete without a meal at the Churston court, in the doomsday books, very medieval. We are a short bus trip or walk to Brixham the fishing port to eye the days catch and take in some lovely seafood. We are 45 minutes drive or train to Plymouth where you can catch a ferry to Spain or Brittany France. Exeter airport also a 45 minute drive or train can fly you to Belfast Dublin Paris and more, it is a small airport so very comfortable to get in and out off quickly, also with great deals with our local airline flybe, often pricing flights from Exeter to Dublin or Paris for 29 pounds one way. Great for a weekend away!! We have a direct line station where you can get a train every day Paignton to London Paddington.
