Our home

This ranch-style bungalow in one third of an acre of garden in the west of Oxford, has 2 double bedrooms and one single, with two bathrooms and additional self-contained apartment presently occupied by my grown up son and his lady, both of whom are advanced Karate instructors, running their own business. In the garden there is a furnished terrace for outdoor dining and plenty of space to sit outside.
The kitchen has a long view towards woods and open fields across the valley.

No car is provided but reasonably priced car hire is available locally (enterprise.co.uk) and the house has broadband wi-fi and parking for five cars.

Who we are

  1. I am a retired professional lady, graduate of Cambridge University, with two children and five grandchildren. My interests are wide and the house is full of books. As an officer of Oxford Botanical Garden and Arboretum, I organize regular visits to spectacular gardens of local country houses. I speak French and enjoy foreign travel, bridge, and university lectures.
I visit London regularly to enjoy the shopping, galleries, theatres and concerts.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

There are local shops within walking distance, with supermarket, cafés bank etc. There are frequent buses into the city, a ten minute ride, and to rail and coach stations for London, Heathrow airport and elsewhere.
Oxford has superb shopping with ancient indoor market, concert hall, cathedral, theatre, cinemas, botanical gardens, the world class Ashmolean museum and fine restaurants, with lovely walks amongst the colleges and riverside.

Because of the University student population, bicycles are popular and used everywhere.

It is convenient for visits to Blenheim Palace, the Cotswolds, Bicester Village(designer brand shopping) and London of course.
