Our home

Our house is a family home. We have 2 sporty boys (8 & 13) and a dog, so the house is comfortable and not full of things than can be easily broken! (The dog is the main culprit, and she doesn't travel with us abroad).

The house has 3 bedrooms, a study and a large kitchen/dining/living space. It has a family bathroom and an extra toilet downstairs. The bedrooms are all large, and one has a double bed, one has 2 bunk beds and one has two single beds.

The kitchen is modern, well equipped and child friendly with an induction hob, electric oven & grill, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a clother line in the garden as well as a drying mating in the shed. We have unlimited broadband and digital TV. The house is centrally heated as well as having underfloor heating in the tiled kitchen and dining area.

Outside is a garden big enough for children and dogs to run around in, and robust enough for them to do so!

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a relaxed and friendly family. The children are fairly typical and sporty boys who divide their time between playing football, swimming and playing with friends, and focusing intently on the joys of computers and video games. Laura works in a school and Ian works as a freelance charity consultant. We like reading, spending time with the children (Ian coaches one of the boys football teams) and trying to keep in touch with friends.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

One of the best things about our house is its location. We have good playing fields within 2 minutes walk and a lovely children's play park within 5 minutes walk. A 15 minute walk gets you out of Oxford and into the C S Lewis Nature reserve, which is reputed to have been the inspiration for Narnia in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe series. (CS Lewis spent most of his life living in Headington, as have many other notable creative and academic people.)

There are many shops and cafes within 5 minutes walk, and buses run to the centre of Oxford every 10 minutes and often more. Buses to central London are also just 5 minutes walk away, running 24 hours a day, and at least one every 30 minutes. The journey takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on the time of day. Excellent for nights out in central London.

Headington is a prosperous suburb, and our part of town seems to be occupied by a mixture of professionals with young families and retired people. We are close to Oxford Brookes University and most of Oxford's hospitals.
