We have a lovely completely refurbished (in 2009) modern detached house on the outskirts of Royal/Historical Windsor in a nice residential area surrounded by trees. The lounge has a gas fireplace with a lovely view out onto the garden. There are 3 very comfortable double bedrooms. The master has an Emperor size bed ( very large !) and has an en-suite power shower. The guest room has a King size bed with memory mattress. The largest bedroom is great for a teenager as it is like a studio room complete with sofa & TV. The family bathroom has a spa bath & large walk in shower. All bedrooms have a TV. There is a seperate cloakroom (toilet) on the ground floor. The kitchen is a wonderful family area with open plan dining room leading out into the garden. We have Sky & Internet. The garden is a joy in the summer & we eat outside as much as possible. It is very private & safe (dogs cannot escape !) We have a large gas BBQ & nice garden furniture. I have a gardener who comes once a week in the summer & a cleaner that comes whenever I need her. We are willing to leave our car if required to use. The front has plenty of car parking space. There is a detached & private bungalow (enclosed) at the bottom of the garden which is rented to a very quiet & charming guy who we hardly see as he travels a lot ....he loves dogs! I need to add a photo of the front of the house however it is Mock Tudor. Please note the neighbours extension was completed 2008!
Let me introduce my family. My name is Beverley, my partner is Gavin and we are in our late 50's. We are Company Directors & now run our own business here in the UK & France...(www.bni.com) we both come from the fashion industry. We have one son, Kasper, who is in his mid 20's and attends University. We have 2 small 6 year old dogs Jack & Russell (yes you've guessed it they are Jack Russell crosses) who are very cute & well behaved pooches so travel with us as much as possible. I have lived in the Lebanon, Cyprus, India & Turkey. As a family we love travelling but all hate hotels as we are 'home loving people' so this exchange idea is perfect. We have never done this before however several friends have & recommend it highly....so here goes !
The house is 5 minutes drive away from Windsor town centre, by foot 15/20 minutes & a bus stops near the house. Tescos supermarket is 1 minute by car. A fabulous country restaurant is 2 minutes walk away & there are quite a few Take Aways in the area that deliver! The shopping in Windsor is amazing with loads of great bars & cafes, the area is also full of wonderful typically English pubs. Sights to visit are Windsor Castle (Queen Elizabeth's home)historical Eton College, Royal Windsor Theatre, the famous Legoland (5 mins drive !) Savill Gardens, the lake & park at Virginia Water, Henley Regatta, Thames River Boat trips & many more places.... as Windsor is ideally situated & very central for sightseeing in all directions. There are also Health & Golf Clubs in the area & Windsor has a great indoor swimming pool(2) by the river with a garden for sunbathing. The City of London is an hours drive away. Windsor is serviced by 2 train station both go straight into the city. London Heathrow Airport is a mere 15 minutes away & London Gatwick 1 hour.
